I’m asking them to do what so many other developers are already doing - make it playable between PS4 and PS5, or Xbox 1 and Xbox X/S. I’m not asking for Xbox players to play with PlayStation, as in cross-platform. Given how huge Madden is, and how many people play the game, I’m simply shocked that EA is not taking any steps to make the game playable online, between the old and new generation consoles. However, the PSN list does not show a different version for PS4, when accessed on the PS5 (even if you specifically navigate to PS4 titles, it shows the Madden version already owned and installed). EA claims that PS5 users can just download the PS4 version of the game. Regardless of which game type we choose, it always says ‘No Friends Online’ for both of us.Ī review of these forums show that other people have reported the same issue. Unfortunately for us, EA doesn’t seem to support cross-generation support for this game. We each bought the standard digital copy of the game time on the PlayStation Network (PSN) store. I have a PlayStation 5, and he has a PS4. He’s not a big gamer, so it’s one of the few games we can play online together.
